Wynonna’s self-titled album was certified platinum. The alb included three consecutive #1 hits "She is His Only Need", "No One Else On Earth" and "I Saw The Light" as well as a fourth single "My Strongest Weakness" which reached #4.

The album has since been certified 5x platinum in the U.S. and 2x platinum in Canada, having climbed to #1 in both countries. "I Saw The Light" was named the #1 Country Song of 1992 by Billboard magazine.

David Allan Coe begins serving a four-year prison sentence at the Ohio State Penitentiary, for car theft, possession of obscene materials and possession of burglary tools. He later claims he killed a fellow inmate during his incarceration.

Also, Buck Owens recorded his hit "Act Naturally."
