Walk-A-Thon To Benefit Foster Children Scheduled For Saturday

A 'Walk-A-Thon' aimed at benefitting foster children in the Lawton area has been organized by 'One Church, One Child', and will take place Saturday, September 3rd at Elmer Thomas Park, 501 NW Ferris Ave in Lawton.

Registration for the event is $5 for ages 12 and older, with proceeds going to One Church, One Child, a non-profit organization whose aim is to bring awareness to the need for foster and adoptive parents, as well as the plight of children in the foster system.

Registration for the walk will begin at 9 in the east pavillion, with the walk itself getting underway at 10. There will be lunch served between 11:15 and 12:15, with games and entertainment beginning after lunch and lasting until 2 pm.
