With ice and snow sticking around and everything remaining closed or having a delayed opening you not only have time to catch up on your DVR but maybe have time to get into a new series. Here's a few I suggest to get over the winter blues.

    Breaking Bad

Of course you can never go wrong with AMC's 'Breaking Bad.' I'm actually currently rewatching the series in between episodes of their the spinoff series 'Better Call Saul.' It's great to see the evolution of Walter White, chemistry teacher turned drug maker. With his family to worry about after being diagnosed with lung cancer, Walter will do just about anything to make sure his family is cared for even after he's gone.

    Man Vs. Food

There's just something interesting about watching someone travel the country checking out some great restaurants in other areas and then taking on their famous eating challenges. I couldn't possibly do or eat the amount of food host Adam Richman goes through in these challenges.

    Kitchen Nightmares

Another cooking/restaurant reality show this time with Chef Gordan Ramsay going around the country and turning around failing restaurants to make them successful again. I mean I worked in a fast food restaurant before and although it's a different mindset there are still rules we need to follow like time, temp and cleanliness. How some of these restaurants serve cold food or get themselves that dirty is just appalling and strange. One of the best episodes in this series is Amy's Baking Company, if you haven't seen it yet then you are in for a treat.

    Once Upon A Time

This series revolves around fairy tale characters getting kicked out their land thanks to a curse cast by an evil queen. To make matter more interesting, the characters have forgotten who they are and it's up to the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming to restore their memories. The show is currently in its fourth season which features Elsa from Frozen and Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty to just name a few.

    Psych

Shawn Spencer is a guy who has 'heightened observation skills' that he developed at a young age with his father training him to be observant and to pay attention in hopes his son would follow in his footsteps and become a cop.

Spencer however, decided to use his skills to become a psychic crime consultant and passes off his observation skills as 'visions' to help the Santa Barbara Police Department.

The series ended on a high note last year.
