Whitney Rose has released a music video for one of her new songs, "Better to My Baby." Readers can press play above to watch.

If it weren't for subtle modern clues, viewers of Rose's "Better to My Baby" music video might think they're discovering some long-lost 1960s track. In the clip, Rose sports a Brigitte Bardot-inspired bouffant while she sings lyrics written to the new girlfriend of a lost love.

"Just be kind, blow his mind / Try to make him happy all the time / Be better to my baby than me," Rose sings in "Better to My Baby." "I was a fool to / Hurt him that way / And I know he’s gone / I know he’s yours / That’s a reality I can’t escape."

In the "Better to My Baby" music video, shots of Rose standing solo on a stage are mixed with what look like old home movies of the singer and a former flame.

"Better to My Baby" is the second song released off of Rose's upcoming album, Rule 62; in addition to this newest track, she's also revealed "Can't Stop Shakin'," a funk-inspired tune featuring the Mavericks‘ Raul Malo. Malo produced Rule 62 alongside co-producer Niko Bolas at Blackbird Studio in Nashville, after teaming up with Rose for her debut project, Heartbreaker of the Year, which was released in 2015.

“I would have to be either lazy or stupid to not take advantage of getting to work alongside these guys, Rose said in an interview with Rolling Stone prior to the release of Heartbreaker of the Year, "and I am neither of those things."

Rule 62 is due out on Oct. 6, via Six Shooter Records and Thirty Tigers. The project is available for pre-order via iTunes and Amazon.
