Citing the current state of the economy, supply-chain shortages, and historic inflation that isn't improving, Big Lots is shuttering doors across the nation.

This all started back in July when the retailer announced they'd be shutting as many as 40 stores down by the end of summer. As of today, the number of stores closing is over 300 nationwide with more expected to follow.

If you look at the big list of locations closing, they're practically circling Oklahoma.

Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, and Colorado are losing stores in this first massive wave of shutdowns. It's not all of the locations in those states, but a lot of them.

So far New Mexico and Oklahoma seem to be safe from the cutting board, but time will tell.

Critics point out that Big Lots has strayed from its original business model, shying away from cheap and unique unknown brands in lieu of known brand names in recent years.

Most of them are associated with the #FarmTok tag, a fair amount of Lord Farquad-looking teens tossing slushies on their squatted trucks, but also a handful of standouts. Accounts like OklahomaViews - whose mission seems to be creating epic OK content until they go viral. Let's see if we can make that happen.

Here is what A.I. thinks Oklahomans look like around the state.
