Enjoy the Cool Oklahoma Summer This Weekend, The 100s Are Returning
July has been unseasonally enjoyable this year in Oklahoma. While it started out very hot, it cooled off by Independence Day and the cool temps have lingered on. It hasn't been this cool of a summer since 2020, but as with everything in life, all good things must come to an end.
The heat wave is coming.
Almost universally, every weather outlet across the internet is making a prediction that triple-digit weather is sweeping back down the plains by the middle of next week. But they don't all agree on the extent of how hot it's going to get.
Depending on the weather website/app you're using, the forecast for the beginning of August is anywhere from 102°-103° across the state to a bold upper range of 108°-113°. Heat indices are predicted even hotter. The National Weather Service is playing the odds right in the middle.
While it's hard to really trust a forecast, especially in this part of the country, there is a small chance August might chill out too after this heat wave. The weather outlets disagree about that too in terms of to what extent we'll see relief, but there's always a chance.
On the plus side, a heat wave is the perfect excuse to treat the kids to a little fun in one of Oklahoma's water parks.
