The holiday season has already been in full swing in Lawton, with the Holiday in the Park kicking off extra early this year before Thanksgiving. But there are some holiday traditions that even the Christmas-lovers have to wait for December to celebrate.

Despite some complications from earlier this year, some of Oklahoma's favorite Christmas traditions will also be available as long as the weather permits. Here are more Christmas festivities yet to come to Lawton.

Christmas is arguably one of the most expensive times of year, so anytime you hear the word "free," don't miss out. The Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce is hosting its Inaugural Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at City Hall.

Not only is the event filled with goodies like delicious hot cocoa and Christmas cookies, but it is also completely free and open to the public, as well. The first 20 guests to arrive will be able to take advantage of goody bags and get a front-row seat to the ceremony.

Carriage rides continue for the Holiday in the Park celebration in Lawton.

Another place that is not allowing horses in their parade this year is Altus, Oklahoma. But they will have another family favorite animal there for photos and unforgettable memories.
