After finding out about Dead People's Stuff, a friend mentioned to me that she loves going to the cat cafe right next door when she visits. And then I found heaven. For my fellow cat lovers, I am happy to tell you about Oklahoma's own: don’t stress meowt - Cat Cafe.

Oklahoma's Only Cat Cafe

Eventually, there will be two locations of the only cat cafe in the state, one in Oklahoma City and the other in Tulsa, Oklahoma. For now, the Metro Park OKC location is the only one up and running. It's done so well, it was featured in the Oklahoma Gazette as the "Best New Restaurant of 2023."

It's an adorable set up right alongside the strip with Dead People's Stuff and Edge Craft Barbecue. They have the absolute fanciest furniure and decor for the kittens in the cat lounge and in the coffee shop.

Besides coffee, they do offer cat-themed cookies, family-friendly drinks and treats and a variety of beer and wine for the adults.

The Story Behind The Place

This has to be the cutest romance story in real life. The founders, Michaela and Adam Fitzpatrick, started the business together.

Michaela's passions for saving things - cats, people, communities - gave her the idea of partnering with local rescues to make something. And her husband, Adam - wanting to make his wife's dreams come true - helped make the idea become a reality.

Helpful First Time Visit Tips:

If you're visiting don't stress meowt for the first time, it's important to know a few things before making the trip to OKC.

• The cat lounge is reservation only and costs $15 per person. They mentioned that they are usually booked days in advance, but you can visit the coffee shop any time.
• They do require you to remove your shoes to visit the cats, they do provide steralized socks or you can wear your own or go barefoot.
• They let visitors in at the top of the hour every hour, you have a 30 minute grace period; otherwise, your spot is forfeited.
• It's best to get there at least 15 minutes early to accomodate for finding a parking spot; generally Thursday - Saturday, they do have a packed parking lot and it may be difficult to find a spot.
• They are CASHLESS - make sure you have your cards ready.
