When the Halloween season wraps up, things start slowing down a bit in Oklahoma. That is, unless you're really into Christmas - and the OKC Zoo definitely is. But they understand that sometimes, you just need a break from the bright lights and big crowds. That's why this year, they're bringing back a special event for those prone to sensory overload.

The Oklahoma City Zoo is offering another sensory-friendly night in November. Visitors who struggle with excessively bright lights, large crowds and overwhelming noise will have a chance to enjoy the zoo at a much... dimmer level.

On November 8, the Zoo's largest winter attraction, the Safari Lights, will be a little less bright, the music is quieter and there aren't as many people walking through the display with your group. Visitors can come as early as 6p.m. and last entry for that night will be at 8p.m.

To add to the sensory experience, the OKC Zoo has added a KultureCity Sensory Room with textured wallpaper, a dark and relaxing atmosphere with a collection of "sensory soothing activities."

You'll find the spot just off of the Zoo's entry plaza.  Though the Sensory Room is open to anyone, the sensory-friendly walk through for the Safari Lights does require a reservation, as spaces are limited. To purchase tickets, follow the link here.

The Safari Lights Experience has become of the largest attractions in the entire state during the holiday season. It's both a drive-through and walk-through experience of 70 ornately decorated sculptures of "larger than life" animals, various photo opportunities and interactive exhibits.

Although the Safari Lights will be open nightly starting November 9, and even open on holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day, online reservations are required. Drive-in options will not be available, so make sure you purchase your tickets ahead of time.

Tickets are $60-$75 per vehicle with 4 walk-through admission tickets. If you just want to walk, tickets are $14-$18 per guest, 3 years old and up. For the Safari Lights tickets, follow this link here.

Since this year's winter is supposed to be warmer than most, it's lights experiences like these that help make it feel a little more Christmas-y this year. And trust me, we need the extra help in Oklahoma.
