Good food is a requirement in Oklahoma - brownie points if it's home-grown. Who better to trust with clean, natural meals than from the state's debatably hardest working class of people: the Amish. Here are the top recommended Amish business' in Oklahoma's largest Amish settlement, Choteau.
The Dutch Pantry
Amish food is something of its own - if you've never had it before, you'll find yourself wanting more than just a plate-full. Thankfully, Choteau has a "low-key" buffet called the Dutch Pantry. Food here is home-grown and made from scratch. Be prepared, it's a popular place in Choteau so it's bound to busy - but there is plenty to go around!
Amish Cheese House
Just across the street from the Dutch Pantry is Choteaus authentic Amish experience bundled up in a beautiful red and white barn with the attached silo beside the building. One of the most notable things inside is the black buggy downstairs at the Amish Cheese House.
The owners, Wes and Leah Miller, have worked for years building this business literally from the ground up. Now. they run a massive operation with over 45 employees to help run the deli, cafe and prepare the home-grown goodies tourists can take home after their meal.

Fannie's Country Cooking
If you're looking for a family-style Amish experience for your visit to Choteau, your best bet is at Fannie's. Here, you'll have your choices of home-grown food that is prepared then and there and brough to you at your table. Known most for their pies, visitors shouldn't walk back out of the doors without trying at least one of their various flavors.
Visitors can also take home homemade noodles, butter, and canned goods made by the folks at Fannie's.
Rachel's Amish Kitchen
Although the Amish have learned to create their own version of technology that can align with their own beliefs, some have opted to remain off the bandwagon. Rachel's Amish Kitchen is one of Choteau's hidden secrets since you won't find much information from them online.
But, you will find a ton of raving reviews about the incredible food, the clean and beautiful home the food is served in and the A-class hospitality from the people at Rachel's.
You'll want to put the address in the GPS ahead of time. If you're planning on going with a group, do keep in mind that reservations are required ahead of time for group visits.
Earl and Lisa Miller
The Amish have been known to be friendly and welcoming, but none are friendlier than the Miller Family. In some occasions, some customers recall meeting Earl Miller and even learning a new language he taught while enjoying unbeatable food.
Unlike many of the other shops and restaurants, Earl and Lisa Miller serve their food right from their home; therefore, visitors should contact them ahead of time. But, according to immense amounts of people, it is well worth the wait.
Nettie Ann's Bakery - Chouteau, Oklahoma
Although it's listed as a bakery, they offer more than just good ol' fashioned food made from scratch. For the green thumbs out there, they grow their own succulents, hanging baskets and their own vegetable seeds to get your own garden started.
