Best American Roots Song is a fairly new category at the Grammy Awards, approved by the Grammys' Board of Trustees in 2013. The first-ever winners in this category, which is awarded to songwriters, were Edie Brickell and Steve Martin in 2014, and Rosanne Cash took home the prize in 2015. And in a few weeks, music fans will find out who wins the trophy in 2016.

Today the spotlight falls on an singer, songwriter and drummer, who was born and raised in Gilmer, TX, an artist who has long been considered a rocker, but whose musical influences are true country through and through.

Everyone loves a good waltz song and Don Henley and Dolly Parton deliver one with this duet "When I Stop Dreaming". The song is from Don's upcoming Cass County album which is scheduled for release this Friday, September 25th. You can pre-order it online.
