There's a museum unlike any other located in a small Oklahoma town that's entirely dedicated to G.I. Joe! That's right the Sooner State has a G.I. Joe museum and it features one of the largest collections of these classic and iconic figures.
In a hundred years from now, when some bespectacled historian sits down to write the story of the G.I. Joe film franchise, the first sentence he’ll write will be, “Why did Paramount Pictures want so badly to get rid of Channing Tatum?” Then he’ll underline that sentence about a hundred different times, crinkle the whole page up into a ball, and throw that ball back into his desk drawer. In hindsight, he’s got a lot of movies to write about and it wasn’t the brightest idea to start with G.I. Joe.
We currently live in a world where society has stopped blinking incredulously at the mere idea of major film franchises based on the dumb toys you used to play with back in the ‘80s. So, it’s not too surprising that Hasbro is apparently examining the possibility of a big screen ‘GoBots’ revival.
If you thought the first ‘G.I. Joe’ had a lot of action, guns, and explosions, wait until you see the trailer for the sequel below.
‘G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation’ doesn’t have Dennis Quaid or Joseph Gordon-Levitt, but it does have The Rock and Bruce Willis. Oh, and a female ninja named Jinx.
