It is not easy to surprise my son Tyler. He usually knows what's in his Christmas presents by shaking them. He guesses even the most elaborate surprises.  He is just way to smart for his own good.

Tomorrow my first Grand Child, McKayla turns 4 years old. We had a little party at Chuck E.Cheese this afternoon and will have a little family dinner tomorrow.  Presents were plentiful, as were members of her family, with one exception.

As we honor our Veteran's today for Veteran's day, I just wanted to say Thanks to my favorite soldiers, SSG (Ret.) Bobby Lee Benefield, and SPC Tyler Scott Chouinard.

I have two children.  Whitney is the oldest and married, with the two most precious children. Tyler, my youngest, is in basic training at Ft. Benning, Georgia.

I started out being "Daughter" to my wonderful parents.  I shared last week that my Dad called me "Sookie" long before those New Jersey folks had one.  Next I was wife, then Mom, and finally I became Nana.  That is one of the best names in the world, and until this last month, my favorite name ever.

Have you heard the song by Tony Bennett, 'I left my heart in San Francisco'?  Well, this week, I left my heart, or a very big part of it at the Recruiters office for the United States Army.  My son, Tyler, left for Basic Training at Fort Benning, Georgia as he begins his career as a soldier...
