Unfortunate news for fans of Firefly and accomplished film and TV actor Ron Glass, as the Emmy-nominated Barney Miller star has passed away at age 71. Glass had also appeared in everything from The Twilight Zone to Friends, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Joss Whedon quit Twitter back in 2015 after he decided that the social media platform’s pervasive negativity, anger, and outright hatred was too toxic to endure. (Where could he possibly get that idea from?) But this morning, like a phoenix or vampire slayer rising from the ashes, Whedon returned to Twitter with a new handle, and a new project: A get-out-the-vote campaign called Save the Day.

Writer Joss Whedon and director Drew Goddard created over 60 different types of monsters were created specifically for The Cabin in the Woods including Sugarplum Fairy, Reptilius, Angry Molesting Tree, Fornicus, Wraiths and, of course, a Merman. Back in April, Amazon sent an e-mail to customers claiming that Avengers: Age of Ultron was available for pre-order on DVD and Blu-ray and would include an “extended edition”. The online retailer quickly retracted that statement saying that nothing had been officially confirmed by Disney and/or Marvel. Now, director Joss Whedon has had his say on the upcoming Avengers 2 DVD and can confirm that there will be no extended or director’s cut of the film, mostly because he’s “super f---king lazy”.

There’s a lot to like about Avengers: Age of Ultron, but the coolest thing about it is the way it reclaims the comic book part of the phrase “comic-book movie.” Rather than using these characters to do something “edgy” or “adult” or “important,” or sanding down their quirkier edges to appeal to as broad and mainstream an audience as possible, Age of Ultron doubles down on its source material’s geeky origins.

It’s a little strange that one of the most anticipated moments in Avengers 2 isn’t even something that takes place during the movie. Of course, we all want to see the team battle Ultron, but fans are already abuzz over what will be revealed in the post-credits scene. No need to wait any longer! The new Avengers 2 trailer has arrived online early after Marvel tweeted out a call to their fans to tweet using the #AvengersAssemble hashtag. Officially premiering on Thursday with the series premiere of American Crime on ABC and in theaters with Cinderella, you don't have to wait any longer to see the biggest and best Avengers 2 trailer yet.

Making any movie is difficult, but making the sequel to one of the most popular movies of all time? That’s downright Herculean and Joss Whedon refuses to play the modesty game with it comes to Avengers 2. Describing the film as a “nightmare” and the “hardest juggling act he has ever, ever tried to pull off,” the beloved writer/director pulled no punches in talking about the difficult creative decisions that went into making the movie.

We’ve been hearing bits and pieces about various elements of ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron,’ from the origins of Ultron and Vision to who Andy Serkis might be playing in the film. But we haven’t heard a whole lot about what’s up with Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, the super-powered twins teased at the end of ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier.’ What we do know is that they’re going up against the Avengers. We were on the ‘Avengers 2’ set last year and it was very clear, even though filming was only about halfway done, that Joss Whedon wouldn’t be coming back for another ‘Avengers’ movie. As we mentioned in our interview with him, he was, by his own admission, completely worn out. We didn’t address his future at the time, but now that filming has wrapped and the movie is only about three months away, Whedon was asked point blank about his return, and it’s pretty much what we all expected.

‘Avengers 2’ graced the cover of Empire Magazine this month, and while there are two covers featuring new looks at Ultron and the team’s new lineup, it’s something on the inside of this issue that caught our attention. Director Joss Whedon spoke to Empire and dropped this bomb: “I’ve come to the conclusion that Ultron is right. The Avengers need to die.”
