ttendees to last night's Way Back Wednesday carload night, were granted entry to the rodeo grounds for just $5 a carload. They weren't left without great entertainment either, with Arena records broken.

Events honoring the past, present, and future of the City of Lawton and its citizens will be held during the city’s birthday week beginning Saturday, August 3 and run through Saturday, August 10. These events are sponsored by the Lawton Rangers, the Pioneer Women’s Club of Lawton, and the City of Lawton.

Lawton's birthday celebration continues with one of, if not THE, best rodeo's in Oklahoma!  The Lawton Ranger's have been 'round these parts for a long time.  They are steeped in tradition and history.

The 74th Annual Lawton Rangers Rodeo begins tonight at the L. O. Ranch Arena.  A bittersweet weekend for 2011-2012 Rodeo Queen, Karyn Ortega, as her reign comes to an end.

Weeks before the cowboys arrive to compete in the 77th Annual Lawton Rangers Rodeo, the Rangers are practicing the Grand Entry to make sure everyone knows their job and placement for the rodeo  August 8-11.

I love this time of year in southwest Oklahoma.  All the festivals and rodeos and different events that happen during the summer and fall are so much fun to attend.  My favorite, of course, is the Lawton Ranger's Rodeo.
