Numerous country music stars will be stepping up to the plate at this year's City of Hope’s Celebrity Softball Game, set for June 7 at 3PM. Charles Esten, Vince Gill, Chris Lane, Scotty McCreery, Bret Michaels, David Nail, RaeLynn and Jamie Lynn Spears will all play in the 26th annual event, being held in 2016 at Nashville's First Tennessee Park.

Those eight stars, and more to be announced in the coming weeks, will divide into teams and play to benefit City of Hope, a treatment and research center for life-threatening diseases such as cancer and diabetes. According to a press release, since 1976, more than 13,000 patients have undergone bone marrow, cord blood and stem cell transplants at City of Hope.

Also during the 2016 City of Hope Celebrity Softball Game, music industry veteran Bruce Hinton, who is the event's founder, will be honored "for his significant contributions to the game over its 25-year history."

Fans looking to buy tickets to the game and support City of Hope can do so through Ticketmaster. If you can't make it to Nashville to watch the stars take the field but would still like to support the cause, check out charitybuzz.com for other ways to get involved.

The City of Hope Celebrity Softball Game is just one of many events happening in Music City throughout the week of the 2016 CMA Music Festival, which officially runs June 9-12. Many stars will be playing during the nightly stadium shows at Nissan Stadium, while others are set for free shows at the Park Stage, the Riverfront Stage and the Broadway Stage; additionally, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum has a number of events planned throughout the week of the 2016 CMA Music Festival, and Marty Stuart‘s annual Late Night Jam will once again help usher in the festival on June 8. Fans can stay up to date on events and tickets via the CMA Music Festival website.
