Nicole Kidman Is Throwing Her Hat in the ‘Aquaman’ Ring
The DC cinematic universe might be picking up yet another Hollywood A-lister. Nicole Kidman is in talks to join the movie’s cast as Atlanna, the King of Atlantis’ mother, in Jason Momoa’s solo Aquaman movie.
Watch the First Three Minutes of ‘Rings’ Right Now, We Dare You
The Ring sequel no one was asking for is about to hit theaters, and if watching a movie about people dying because they watched a movie appeals to you, you probably want to check out the full first scene Paramount released today. It features a doomed plane, some doomed people, and a girl crawling out of a — well, you know the rest.
Taron Egerton Thinks a ‘Kingsman’-‘Deadpool’ Crossover Would Be a Great Idea
In the world of cinematic crossover fantasies, anything is possible. What would any of us give for the Avengers to meet the Justice League, or the G.I. Joe soldiers to meet the Transformers (which might actually happen), or for every character ever created by Wes Anderson to team up and fight crime? Most of these could never happen, just due to budgetary concerns or two series being owned by different companies, but it’s great fodder for all the fanfiction websites out there. And sometimes actors give us their own input on which crossovers they’d love to see.
James Cameron Disagrees with ‘Mythbusters,’ Defends the ‘Titanic’ Ending
It’s a debate as old as time. Or at least as old as James Cameron’s Titanic, which came out in 1997, so not that old, but still. “They both could have fit on that door!” is the rallying cry of Titanic truthers, who believe that the door (which isn’t actually a door (it’s ajar! just kidding)) that Rose (Kate Winslet) floats on while Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) freezes to death in the subzero waters of the North Atlantic was big enough to hold both of them. Mythbusters even dedicated an episode to it. But Cameron himself is still holding fast to the movie’s original ending, much like Jack’s hands after they froze.
‘Baywatch’ Keeps It Cool With a Bunch of New Motion Posters
Baywatch continues its advertising campaign with a new set of motion posters to showcase each character that include Dwayne Johnson giving us the finger, Zac Efron getting his tongue stuck to the glass, and Priyanka Chopra being an ice queen.
Dan Aykroyd’s Tribute to Carrie Fisher Is Fascinating, Honest, and Hilarious
It’s a pretty well-known fact by now that Carrie Fisher had the ability to out-funny Hollywood’s funniest stars, and her friend and former fiancee Dan Aykroyd was no exception. The actor, who was engaged to Fisher for a brief time after proposing to her on the set of The Blues Brothers, wrote a funny and honest tribute to her for Empire magazine’s latest issue, which contains a 27-page farewell to
Mary Tyler Moore, TV and Comedy Icon, Dies at 80

Mark Hamill Likes the New ‘Star Wars’ Title’s Samurai Movie Roots
We finally know what the title of the next Star Wars movie is, and it’s a pretty great one. “The Last Jedi” is full of drama and mystery, giving nothing away while implying a whole lot. As it turns out, the movie’s stars like the title just as much as the rest of us do, and Mark Hamill had a pretty great reaction to it.
M. Night Shyamalan’s Next Movie Will Be an ‘Unbreakable’ Sequel
M. Night Shyamalan’s Split is a strange kind of superhero movie of its own. James McAvoy’s character has a multiple personality disorder that manifests itself like a superpower, more like a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde thing than how multiple personalities work in the real world. But this isn’t the director’s first foray into the superhero movie realm — and it’s not the last. Shyamalan announced that after Split, his next movie is going to be a sequel to his 2000 superhero flick Unbreakable. (This post contains some SPOILERS for Split, so if you don’t want those, then you’d better… split.)
Marvel Co-President Reveals a New ‘Black Panther’ Logo
A lot goes into the design of a logo, especially the design of a logo for a huge superhero blockbuster. Logo and title reveals for upcoming Marvel and Lucasfilm properties and the like are big news, mostly because it’s just fun to use whatever fonts the studio chose to speculate about what that says for the movie. Today, Marvel’s co-president Louis D’Esposito tweeted a photo of one of the chairs on the set of Black Panther, revealing a logo that’s very different from the one we’ve become accustomed to.
Well, Patrick Stewart Is Gonna Voice the Poop Emoji for ‘The Emoji Movie,’ Maya Rudolph Also Cast
Studios these days knows no bounds when it comes to anthropomorphizing inanimate objects. The objects in The Emoji Movie aren’t even real — merely code-based pictograms that live on the surface of your phone screen. But that won’t stop Sony, determined to make you feel emotions for the very things meant to stand in for emotions in the first place. The cast is oddly good for...
‘Black Panther’ Will Have at Least One Flashback to the 1990s
So far the Marvel movies have been pretty light on the flashbacks, especially when it comes to origin stories. The upcoming Black Panther, however, will feature a few flashbacks to T’Challa’s youth as it tells a kind of coming-of-age story. We’ve known for a bit that there would be flashbacks, but now we know some details: at least one of them will feature a 1990s-era AC Transit bus.
