I've worked in radio since my senior year of high school (1981), and have worked as a musician since the mid 80's. Back on the radio in Texoma after 15 years of doing radio and playing music in Nashville. Who says you can't go home?
We jump in the way-back machine and set it for November 29th, 1980 to get today's K-LAW Classic. It's from an award-winning singer who has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame - near her older sister's star.
The K-LAW Classic for Wednesday was the #1 country song 25 years today - November 28th, 1987. It was the seventh #1 for a guy who once teamed with Lee Roy Parnell and Diamond Rio, recording Merle Haggard's 'Workin' Man Blues' under the name Jed Zeppelin.
Today's Saturday K-LAW Classic takes us back 28 years ago today - November 16th, 1984. It's from a group that started as a rock and roll band, formed by high school students in Kentucky way back in 1963.
Today's Classic is from Waylon Jennings. Written and recorded by Waylon in 1975, this song, 'Are You Sure Hank Done it This Way' pays tribute to the late Hand Williams, Sr. while subtly blasting some of the country artists of the '70's.
