Today's catch of the day comes to us from a native of Garden City, Missouri who attended Missouri State University to study voice. Our featured artist is a classically trained opera singer, who, during his senior year in high school, sang tenor for the Missouri All-State Choir.

Describing himself as a thinker, observer of the human condition and a man who insists on digging a little deeper, getting a little realer and owning how hard it can be, with a voice that has been called "unique, but not distracting", Tyler Farr burst onto the country scene in 2012 with his first two singles "Hot Mess" and "Hello Goodbye".

He toured incessantly with the likes of Florida Georgia Line, Luke Bryan, Lee Brice and Jason Aldean, playing festivals, dive bars, anywhere he could get people to hear his songs. Neither of the singles managed to crack the top 50, but Farr was just getting started. The hard work set the stage for his debut album, Redneck Crazy, which featured the lead singles, followed by two top-10 hits, the title track and "Whiskey In My Water".

Farr's follow up to Redneck Crazy, Suffer In Peace, was released in April and featured his first #1 single "A Guy Walks Into A Bar", has also sold over 500,000 copies. The album's second single, "Withdrawals" released in June, but was not a typical Tyler Farr song, preferring to show off his classical training and it apparently didn't measure well with country fans. It failed to crack the top-50.

The third single from Suffer In Peace, is a little closer to what country fans have come to expect from Farr, and it's our featured song today. Tyler Farr and "Better In Boots" is today's Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you want to hear it again.
