Our catch of the day today comes to us from an act who grew up in Missouri, with his original plans of becoming an opera singer until his mother married George Jones' touring guitarist.

Tyler Farr grew up in Garden City, MO and graduated from the Missouri State University with a Voice degree. Farr is a classically trained opera singer, beginning voice lessons as a teenager. He sang tenor in the Missouri All-state choir while in High School. According to Farr, he grew up listening to Ronny Milsap and Conway Twitty while working on the family farm with his father, but it wasn't until his mother was remarried to George Jone's touring guitar player that young Tyler gained an appreciation for the genre.

Farr took what he learned from his step-father and in college and at age 21, packed his bags and headed to Nashville to become a star. But, like so many hard-scrabble dreamers, he discovered becoming a star wasn't quite that easy.  He started by singing back-up for Colt Ford and writing songs for Ford and Joe Nichols.

Farr released a single "Hot mess" in 2012, a song he co-wrote with Rhett Akins. The song failed to crack the top-50, as did his second single "Hello Goodbye".

Farr then moved from BNA Records to Columbia Nashville and his journey truly began. His third single, "Redneck Crazy", became his first Top 10 hit in 2013, which was followed by the top 3 hit "Whiskey in My Water". All four singles were included on his debut album, Redneck Crazy, which was released in September of 2013.

Farr's second album, 2015's Suffer in Peace featured his first #1 single, "A Guy Walks Into A Barr". The second single off of the album is in our spotlight today. Tyler Farr and "Withdrawls" is our Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
