Admit it, you don't know either. Spring forward...fall back...ends/begins. Why do we have to change our clocks anyway? Aren't we just taking some off the front and moving it to the back and vice versa?

We all know that the "spring foward" and "fall back" was first implemented to save energy. Benjamin Franklin was the first to implement the time change to save money on candles and troops in World War I followed suit to save on coal.

Since World War II, Daylight Saving Time has become common practice across the world. Over 70 countries now participate. Arizona and Hawaii have opted out. They (whoever "they" are) say it's supposed to save energy but studies have shown it does little to help us conserve energy. The energy saved on lighting in the summer months is canceled out by our increased use of heating and air condition. It actually results in a 1% overall INCREASE in residential electricity.

Moving our clocks forward in spring has also proved a health hazard.  According the The American Journal of Cardiology it increases "incidences of myocardial infarction" in other words, a marked increase in heart attacks. Let's not forget the increase in traffic accidents.  So I ask, why do we bother?
