Deana Carter has bounced back to the writing and recording scene with her latest album, Southern Way of Life. The "Strawberry Wine" chanteuse has released the first single from her new album, Do or Die,” accompanied by a video she directed.

In an interview with Country Weekly, Deana notes that she has put a more intense focus into her songwriting after the success of Kenny Chesney’s “You and Tequila,” which she wrote with Matraca Berg. “It’s like I went from zero to 60 all of a sudden,” Deana says. “I was writing more and traveling more. So I had all these songs laying around and I thought that I needed to do something with them. We decided to put them on this record.”

Deana wrote several tunes for her acclaimed 1996 debut album, Did I Shave My Legs for This?, including the No. 1 single “How Do I Get There.”
