Fists of Fury 4 hit Lawton Saturday night, and the action was fast and furious. The card held several amateur bouts and two pro contests, with most of the top notch action being reserved for the final two bouts of the night, the pros.

A good crowd was in attendance Saturday night at the Great Plains Coliseum. You could see it in their eyes before the doors even opened that they were there to see what was being advertised: "the tap, nap or snap show." What they got was slightly less, but still a serviceable show. One major disappointment was the women's match that was advertised, but failed to materialized. Another disappointment was the lightweight amateur championship match, which felt more like a three round sparring session. For the most part though, the audience went home happy with the evening.

Dylan Giguere def Alex Domenici in the second round by submission

Oscar Ramirez def Timothy Francisco by arm bar submission in the third round

Derek Martinez def Kenneth Perry by tko in round 1

Jared Aldrich def Julian Gomez by split decision

In the amateur lightweight championship match, Sidney Ross def Chris Mullins by unanimous decision

Jerod Spoon def Gary Galloway by rear naked choke in round 1

In the Oklahoma State Light Heavyweight Championship Match, Rodney Mcswane def Art Parker by tko in round 3

Oscar Ramirez was awarded the submission of the night for his defeat of Timothy Francisco by arm bar

Derek Martinez was awarded the ko/tko of the night when he knocked out Kenneth Perry in the first round of their bout (I think Perry is still out cold.)

And Frank Amuzeca and Ben Cothren were named as the fight of the night in their split deciscion contest.

One fight stuck out on the evening for me. Dakotah Atnip (Wichita Falls, 4-0) show a lot of promise and stuck out to me as a possible future star to watch for in his second round tap out victory over Jason Day. Atnip is a middle weight, but could easily move up in weight class as he matures. He seemed to be toying with Day throughout the first round. I honestly questioned during that time whether Atnip had the ability to close Day out. He answered that question at :22 of the second round with a form of kata ha jime, a rear judo choke hold that had Day tapping quickly and fervently. Atnip is definitely one to watch in the coming future.
