To help cut down on the excess animal population in the City of Lawton, for the first time the city will participate in a nation program call the Spay Neuter Assistance Program. It will be taking place on Saturday, March 19th at the Expo Building at the Comanche County Fairgrounds. The free surgical spay and neuter clinic will be held at the expo building starting at 8 a.m., with an adopt-a-thon coinciding. All local rescues will be represented during the adopt-a-thon.
The event is paid for by local business sponsors and veterinarians are donating their time. More volunteer veterinarians are needed for the event, if you are a loval vet interested in donating your time, please contact the Lawton Animal Welfare at 580-581-3219.
