Carrie Underwood might have some more free time in her schedule come next hockey season, according to WKRN, which reports her husband, Nashville Predators player Mike Fisher, may be considering retirement.

The Predators captain becomes an unrestricted free agent as of July 1, the Nashville news station reports, and he’s not quite sure what he’s going to do yet.

"I want to separate myself from the season and get some quiet time, kind of away, prayer and just figure out my decision," Fisher says. "It’s not an easy decision, no question. Lots of positives to both, but it’ll take time. I know it’ll come. I’ll try not to put any pressure on myself."

Fisher is coming off an epic run the Predators had in 2017, ending up in the Stanley Cup Finals and lighting Nashville up with record enthusiasm for the team. Though they didn’t take home the Cup, it was a wild ride for Music City, hockey fans, and even country stars who were all-in on the bandwagon. There was no bigger fan than Underwood, though, who not only sang the national anthem at one of the playoff games but cheered her hubby on from above the ice every game.

She and Fisher have a two-year-old son, Isaiah, but Underwood says his busy career didn’t prevent him from spending time with him — including doing the “hot dog dance” before going off to work. The two have said they always make their family the first priority.

Underwood has been off the road after wrapping up her Storyteller Tour, and though she has made a few appearances and stays busy with her Calia by Carrie fitness wear line, she was able to be on the Stanley Cup journey with her husband every step of the way. It was recently announced that she and Brad Paisley will be back to host the CMA Awards together this fall for the 10th time running. The ceremony airs Nov. 8 on ABC.
