Today's KLAW Classic was written by another classic artist, Tom T. Hall.  This song was actually turned down by Skeeter Davis, but eventually recorded by Jeannie C. Riley, and marked the first time that a woman made it to the top of the Billboard Top 100 Charts and the Country Charts at the same time.  Here's Jeannie C.
