On August 13, 2011 minutes before Sugarland was about to take the stage for a show at the Indiana State Fair the stage collapse due to a storm  killing seven people and injuring 58 more. Now, the survivors are suing Sugarland for monetary damages.

Mid-American Sound Corp, the company that build the stage, is also involved in the lawsuit. Lawyers for the plaintiffs have requested both Nettles and Bush give depositions next week. However, Sugarland’s attorney requested that the judge reject the timetable siding band’s work obligations. Marion Superior Court Judge Theodore Sosin approved the request, but said Nettles has to make herself available between April 1 and April 15 to be deposed by the plaintiffs’ attorney.

Sugarland continues to maintain that their innocent and goes as far as calling the incident ‘Act of God.’
