Just recently, the country music world learned of Hillary Scott’s private and intimate wedding to her musician boyfriend, Chris Tyrrell. Leading up to the sacred nuptials that took place in New York on Saturday, Jan. 7, the Lady Antebellum singer spoke openly to Cosmopolitan magazine about her fiance and that exact moment when she realized he was “the one.”

“It was when I met his family,” says Scott in the interview. “His brother is 10 years younger, and when I saw them together, I knew he’d be a great father. I just melted!”

Scott has been well prepared for marriage for the past several years now — or at least what it takes to live with a guy – as she spends a majority of her life traveling on the road in a bus she shares with only men, including her Lady A bandmates Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood.

“Guys can brawl about something and then just move on,” Scott says of what she has learned from being in close quarters with men nonstop. “Women don’t do that. I’ve learned that I have to just say ‘What are you yelling about?’”

Now that Scott is officially married, there will be one wedding left for Lady Antebellum when Dave Haywood weds his new fiance, Kelli Cashiola. The two became engaged around Christmas time when Haywood spelled out “Will you marry me?” in Christmas lights in her front yard. No date has been set for Haywood and Cashiola’s wedding, but it’s probably a ways off, seeing how the trio will be launching into the next leg of the Own the Night tour at the end of this month.
