A BIG THANKS to Diamond Defense LLC and all the volunteers who are making this possible. The instructors are all Military Veterans and firearm experts so the training you receive will be high quality and impactful. They hope to host as many people as possible but may need to limit the number of students depending on interest. So if you're considering it, you may want to get signed up ASAP to insure a spot in the course.

Of course, this training will be all for nothing if current laws don't change. At this time school faculty and administrators are unable to carry firearms onto school property. However, this could and should change.

Last year in March the Oklahoma House passed (HB-2588). The bill lets the individual school boards, districts and administrators decide for themselves what their potential firearm policies will be and what those policies might entail. This isn't a statewide mandate or policy, instead, it allows local schools and districts their own say and control over firearm/handgun policies. Click here to get the details on (HB-2258).

The Oklahoma House passed the bill, but no word yet from the Senate. If passed teachers and school staff who wish to carry a concealed firearm may do so. The bill also states that anyone carrying a firearm on school property must possess a valid Oklahoma CCW license along with any additional training that may be required. Some will agree, and others will disagree with this proposal. All I'll say is making our schools utterly defenseless hasn't made murderous criminals any less dangerous. As a matter of fact, it's made it worse!
