We heard the news on a Friday. Luke Bryan is (sob, sob ... pause for a tissue and dramatic effect) no longer wearing tight-fitting jeans during his live shows.

Sure, there were some good times. Concerts in Houston, Raleigh, Denver and Hoboken come to mind. You could make a case that having saran wrapped legs led to multiple stage falls, but the "Light It Up" singer always had room in the hips to do what he does best. Well, second best.

Just last summer Bryan asked country girls to shake it with him at WE Fest in Detroit Lakes, Minn. His jeans were tight enough to bounce a quarter off of at that mid-summer concert. Young and old female fans flocked to the front of the stage to get a closer look as he perched low, smiled and delivered. He's like the milkman, isn't he?

So here we pay tribute to a decade's worth of tight-fittin' denim with a few thoughts, photos and video clips that recall an era in country music. The multi-time Entertainer of the Year will keep entertaining, and he'll do just fine relying on his charm, catalog and voice. But in our minds, he'll always be making his zipper scream as he pushes the ties that bind threads together. Rest in peace, denim trousers. We'll look for you in the Hall of Fame one day.

Bryan made the announcement during an interview on the Bobby Bones show earlier this month. Moving forward he'll wear a looser fitting pair of jeans.
