Merle Haggard Still has IT! Singing his KLAW Classic ‘Big City’ Watch Here! [VIDEO]

When you have to name country artists with the 'it' quality, there are a handful of standouts.  George Jones, George Strait, Conway Twitty certainly have the 'it' quality, and so does my man Merle Haggard!

I love the fact that Merle Haggard shared the writing credits of this song with his longtime friend and bus driver Dean Holloway.  While in recording studio, Merle went to the bus to check on Dean and asked how he was doing. Dean's response "I hate this place. I'm tired of this dirty old city", was the spark that Haggard used to write the song that same day.  He went back into the studio where the musicians were packing up and told them, let's do just one more.  They recorded it in just one take!
