Today's Classic, 'True Love Ways' was a love song written by Buddy Holly for his wife as a wedding gift. Holly recorded the song himself in 1958 along with the Ray Ellis Orchestra. Mickey Gilley covered the song during the height of his success in 1980. It was around the same time that Gilley opened his first club, Gilley's, knows at the World's Biggest Honky Tonk.
