In case you somehow didn’t know (do you even have the internet? How are you reading this?), Sony wants to make it perfectly clear: Spider-Man is pals with the Avengers now, and thanks to the participation of Marvel, the latest reboot of everyone’s favorite web-slinging superhero features a few familiar faces from the MCU. The new (and extended) TV spot for Spider-Man: Homecoming leans pretty heavily on that element with some serious shout-outs to Spidey’s super-friends.

But that’s not the only exciting thing about Spider-Man: Homecoming, which looks like it’ll be plenty fun even when Marvel isn’t creeping in on the action. The new TV spot opens by revisiting Captain America: Civil War through Spidey’s POV and features some MCU-centric footage we’ve already seen before — like Cap’s “fitness challenge” cameo and the bank robbers wearing Avengers masks. More than anything, it’s the energy of the film — and Tom Holland as a nerdy teen who’s just so earnestly STOKED about his new super-life — that has me sold on seeing Homecoming as soon as reasonably possible.

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming.  Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

Spider-Man: Homecoming also stars Jon Favreau, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Martin Starr, Kenneth Choi, Jacob Batalon and Tony Revolori, and hits theaters on July 7.
