Taylor Swift Shares Her ‘State of Grace’ on ‘Good Morning America’
These days, ‘Good Morning America’ is Taylor Swift‘s best friend. The mega-popular crossover star has been popping by the show frequently the past few weeks to preview new songs for her fans. Monday was no different, as Swift chatted for a few minutes and introduced and exclusive preview of a new song from her ‘Red’ album called ‘State of Grace.’
According to Swift, the latest tune is about that warm, fuzzy feeling you get when you first start to fall for someone. “I wrote this song about when you first fall in love with someone, the possibilities, and you know kind of thinking about the different ways that it could go,” she explained.
Swift also added that the sound of the music was very important to her with this particular tune. “It’s a really big sound to me,” she adds. “This sounds like the feeling of falling in love in an epic way.”
Unfortunately, ‘GMA’ viewers only caught a short snippet of ‘State of Grace,’ as with previous songs she’s revealed on the show. The good news is that the entire song will be available for download on iTunes at precisely 12:01AM Tuesday morning.
Despite heavily promoting several songs from ‘Red’ — like the title track, ‘I Knew You Were Trouble‘ and others — Swift told Rolling Stone that she really wants to leave a few surprises waiting for her fans — and she will. The Oct. 22 album contains 16 songs in total.
“I really want there to be so many surprises left on the record for when it comes out eventually, some collaborations that haven’t been talked about and some songs that are definitely what make the album so unique,” she said.
In just one week, ‘Red’ will be flying off of shelves all over the world. Swift will return to ‘Good Morning America’ on Oct. 22 and 23 for an in-depth interview, followed by a performance of new songs the next day.
