For the past year, the music scene in Southwest Oklahoma has been caring for longtime musician Terry Allen, who has been suffering from an illness that has still been unidentified by doctors. Those closest to Allen have organized a music festival featuring local talent to raise funds to assist with medical costs.

Terry Allen Benefit Music Festival

The Terry Allen Benefit Music Festival will take place April 27 and 28 at the Trail of Fear Scream Park in Lawton, Oklahoma. Both days will feature several live performances from local musicians and several food trucks. The goal of the music festival is to not only raise funds to assist Allen but to also celebrate him as a person and his legacy in the Southwest Oklahoma music scene.

According to the music festival's ticket website, Allen "has been an instrumental part of the music scene in Southwest Oklahoma for many years - from headlining a popular regional country band to owning the Guitar Bar" in Lawton, Oklahoma. Allen also assisted many other local musicians and those in need by hosting "benefit concerts, raffles, barbeque dinners, and any number of things to help. He has donated countless hours of his time, talent and money to many causes through the years."
