The shocking twist atop the final outing of NBC’s Kristen Bell-Ted Danson comedy The Good Place demanded a second season, and NBC isn’t about to argue. The new series from the minds behind Parks and Recreation and The Office officially has its second season order in place, and it’s a good one.

You’re warned of full spoilers for The Good Place from here on out (and trust us, even for a comedy you’ll want to go in unspoiled), but NBC confirmed we’ll be staying in Place for Season 2. The series will return for an additional 13 episodes, presumably later on this year.

Of course, the finale revealed that The Good Place was something of a misnomer for the real fates visited upon Eleanor (Bell), Chidi (William Jackson Harper), Tahani (Jameela Jamil) and Jianyu Jason (Manny Jacinto), leaving the door open for Season 2 to visit multiple new “Place”s. Says NBC of the order:

Mike Schur has always had one of the most fertile and imaginative minds in comedy, but what he brought us with the first season of The Good Place was just extraordinary. We absolutely can’t wait to see where these characters go, literally, in season two. A big thank you to Mike, the writers, and cast for delivering a series in which we all take such enormous pride.

Stay tuned for news on The Good Place Season 2 while we wait.
