Meeting the parents is intimidating enough as it is, but that anxiety is only elevated when your date's parents are Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, and they have a pretty hilarious story about meeting daughter Gracie's first date.

Sitting down on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, McGraw tells the story of when he met their eldest daughter's date for the evening -- and he was covered in blood.

The singer set the scene at their home: He's getting ready for a barbecue that evening, but had forgotten that he had invited the young man over to meet him during the day. With a knife in hand and chunks of meat covering his white apron, it made for quite a startling first impression when he answered the door.

"I've got a knife in my hand and a bloody apron on. And it worked out really well," the singer explained...which caused Fallon to crack up at the image.

The couple shares three daughters: 20-year-old Gracie, 19-year-old Maggie and 15-year-old Audrey. They released their first ever duets album on Nov. 17 titled The Rest of Our Lifeperforming the title track during the 2017 CMA Awards.

Additionally, they recently announced an extension of their successful Soul2Soul Tour, hitting multiple cities across the U.S. for 25 dates from May through July in 2018. Fans who purchase tickets will also receive a copy of The Rest of Our Life.

The tour kept them on the road for the majority of 2017, reaching the top spot on a variety of Pollstar's ranking lists including Average Grossing Country Tour (North America) and Average Grossing Country Tour (Worldwide) for the year.
