My first real life experience with 'Trunk or Treat' happened on Halloween last year.  I was so surprised at how well these events are received. The concept is great.  Get a bunch of cars, open up the trunk, pass out candy.  Well, that may be a little simpler than it really is, but you get the point.  Lots of candy in one place.  No going door-to-door with the dark porches, loud dogs in neighborhoods that are scary in the daytime.  What I loved best about Trunk or Treat was that it's like a 'Parking Lot Party'.  Our church, First Baptist Medicine Park uses the parking lot across from the bridge, right next to the Post Office.  We had about 200 kids and adults in costume come through, and Medicine Park put on a kid's Halloween movie after dark so the families could just hang around after the 'treats'.

I am a huge fan of 'Trunk of Treating'!  Several churches in the area have them as an alternative to traditional 'Trick or Treat' including Trinity Baptist Church, Centenary United Methodist Church, and once again First Baptist Church Medicine Park.

Does your church or business host a safe 'Trick or Treating' experience?
