I'm always inspired when kids take initiative and show interest in activities that seem out of the norm for their age group. Especially when those activities are incredibly entrepreneurial. This is why I was so excited to meet the Lawton/Ft. sill Future Chefs National Challenge Nominee, Julissa Rocha.

Julissa is a vibrant 5th grader from Pioneer Park Elementary who is one of five students that advanced to the national level of the Sodexo Future Chef Competition. We’re talking hundreds of school districts, thousands of students and school sites from over 30 states!

"This year, students from 256 school districts joined over 2,600 other students representing over 1,300 Sodexo-served school sites in 30 states nationally in this fun and educational challenge."

Voting begins today and ends on Sunday, April 29th. You can find the link here to vote in this year’s Future Chefs National Challenge. Julissa says, “You can vote once a day, every day this week to help me win!” Her competition recipe submission, Asian Chicken Lettuce Wraps and Tofu Caprese Skewers, are absolutely delicious and are definitely worth the everyday vote!

Shout out to Julissa's mom and dad for bringing her into the PopCrush Studios today, and for the amazing job they are doing with their daughter. She is an inspiration to us all!

Let’s all go above and beyond to support Julissa in the 2018 Sodexo Future Chef Competition.
