The 2019 CMA Awards began with a cast of country women sharing some of their heroes' and peers' biggest songs.

Awards show co-hosts Carrie UnderwoodReba McEntire and Dolly Parton led an all-star singalong that featured Terri ClarkSara Evans, Crystal Gayle, the Highwomen (Brandi Carlile, Natalie Hemby, Maren Morris and Amanda Shires), Martina McBrideJennifer NettlesTanya Tucker and Gretchen Wilson.

The event officially kicked off with Underwood, McEntire and Parton performing a stripped-down rendition of Pam Tillis' "Those Memories of You."

Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman and Nettles performed Loretta Lynn's "You're Lookin' at Country" as Lynn smiled at them from the audience.

The Highwomen took Tammy Wynette's "Your Good Girl’s Gonna Go Bad" and put their harmonic spin on the classic. Tucker then began performing her hit "Delta Dawn" before the Highwomen and Parton joined in.

Wilson came out to the stage to rock out to “Redneck Woman," which most of the audience joined in singing along. Gayle slowed things down with "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue."

Clark appeared with her guitar at hand to sing her hit, "Better Things to Do."  Evans seemlessly came in to perform “Born to Fly,” with the performers on stage humming along.

McBride appeared from backstage and walked out to the main stage to finish things off with her smash hit, "Independence Day." All of the female performers came in and finished the chorus out together for a truly special moment to kick off the evening.
