The Nashville Songwriters Hall Of Fame inducts Don Schlitz ("The Gambler" and "On The Other Hand"), Red Lane ("My Own Kind Of Hat" and "'Til I Get It Right") and Conway Twitty.
Twitty, a vastly underrated writer, wrote many of his own hits, including "After All the Good Is Gone", "The Letter", "You've Never Been This Far Before", "Hello Darlin'" and "To See An Angel Cry."

Vince Gill invites Rascal Flatts to join the Grand Ole Opry during a Tuesday edition of the show. The group teams with Gill on "Whenever You Come Around"
2007
Sugarland kicks off its first headlining tour at the North Charleston Coliseum in South Carolina. Sponsored by CMT, the tour lineup includes Little Big Town and Jake Owen.
Out of this tour would come the top 20 hit "Life In A Northern Town" which featured all three acts. The song, a remake of The Dream Academy's 1985 hit, was never officially released as a single, but still managed to climb to #17 on the country charts.

Bassist Patrick Bourque is born on this date in 1977 in Terrebonne, Quebec. He replaces Jeff Loberg in Emerson Drive in August 2002, just months after the group picked up its first American hit. Patrick passed away Sept 25th, 2007 of an apparent suiced. two days before his 30th birthday.
