One of the best fall activities is apple picking, and most Oklahomans would assume that those on the east coast are the only ones that get to enjoy fresh apples. But you can go apple picking in Oklahoma, and you don't have to wait till the leaves start to fall for you to bite into a crisp, freshly picked apple.

Where to got apple picking in Oklahoma?

Livesay Orchards in Porter, Oklahoma, offers apple picking, and the orchard's pick-your-own apple season started on Aug. 2!

The apples available for picking at Livesay Orchards are Jonathan Apples, which are sweet with a touch of tart and are great for eating as is or for baking. And nothing ushers in fall faster in Oklahoma than an apple pie.

Last year, Livesay Orchards also offered its first harvest of Evercrisp apples that was a cross between Honeycrisps and Fuji apples. Livesay Orchards has not indicated as to whether or not this apple will be offered during the 2024 season.

Livesay Orchards also has a pumpkin patch!

Starting at the end of September, Livesay Orchards opens its pumpkin patch with all kinds of fall activities, including apple picking. The orchard will also have a four-acre corn maze and Pumpkin Playland, which has a hay bale maze and other activities.

According to the Livesay Orchards website, the pumpkin patch is set to open in late September this year and run through Oct. 27.
