Lawton will celebrate its 125th anniversary this August with a special birthday celebration at the McMahon Memorial Auditorium. Part of the celebration will be a special performance honoring Louise D. McMahon, and those interested in participating can audition on Friday, June 26.

Lawton's 125th Birthday Celebration will take place Saturday, August 8 at the McMahon Memorial Auditorium, which was dedicated to the city by Louise D. McMahon in 1955. The performance at the celebration will be a community theatrical tribute to Louise D. McMahon.

The City of Lawton's Arts and Humanities Division is seeking dancers ages 18 and younger to audition for the community theatrical tribute.

The McMahon Memorial Auditorium has been closed to events and performances for over a year due to extensive construction. Lawton's 125th Birthday Celebration on August 8 will be the first event hosted at the auditorium after the completed construction.

Attendees at the celebration will be able to view the completed projects at the auditorium, including new restrooms and an elevator.
