It was on this date (May 19) in 2010, the press release announcing the band Cross Canadian Ragweed was "taking a break" was released. The announcement forever changed the Texas / Red Dirt music scene and left all of us screaming "CARRRRRNNNEEEYYYY MANNNNN!!"

Something extraordinary happened on this date in Amarillo, Texas in the year 19 and 66. The "Redneck Messiah" was born.

You know him as "Johnny Chops," the bass player from the Randy Rogers Band. He has been laying down their four string groove for well over a decade. But Jon Richardson also does his own thing from time to time, and even released his debut solo album Sticks And Stones back in August of 2013.
