Michael Bay Debuts a Decepticon Upgrade For ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’
Following last week’s reveal of Bumblebee’s slick new wheels, Michael Bay has shared another one of the vehicle upgrades from Transformers: The Last Knight. It looks like the Autobots won’t be the only ones receiving makeovers in the upcoming sequel, as the latest photo depicts a familiar Decepticon sporting a new look.
Over on his official website, Michael Bay revealed the return of the Decepticon known as Barricade, seen below in the form of a custom police vehicle. Click the image for a full, high-res version:
Bay debuted the photo with the caption “To punish and enslave,” clearly a play on the traditional “To protect and serve” motto.
Honestly, I have no recollection of a Decepticon named Barricade, but apparently it was featured in Transformers and Transformers: Dark of the Moon, the first and third films in the series. That lack of consistency might be the reason why this villainous bot isn’t particularly memorable, but to be fair, the only ones that stand out to me are Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Megatron, the one that peed on John Turturro’s head, those tiny racist ones, and the replicant of Frances McDormand from Age of Extinction.
Anyhow, Transformers: The Last Knight features the return of Mark Wahlberg and Josh Duhamel (last seen in Dark of the Moon), along with Anthony Hopkins and newcomers Isabela Moner and Jerrod Carmichael. The sequel hits theaters on June 23, 2017.
