It's no secret: The The Voice judges are all impressed with Billy Gilman. The singer earned heaps of praise -- and, more importantly, a spot in the Top 12 -- on Monday night's (Nov. 7) episode.

During the first live round of Season 11, Gilman performed Roy Orbison's "Crying;" readers can press play on the video above to watch his performance. Gilman was competing against the other five members of coach Adam Levine's team for a spot in the Top 12. Only three spots were available, and Gilman secured one of them based on the fan voting that took place during the show.

"Oh MY GOD. YOU, ALL OF YOU AMAZING PEOPLE. YOU, THAT'S IT. YOU ALLL have my heart," Gilman tweeted following his advancement. "I am so grateful to you."

Gilman skyrocketed to stardom following the release of “One Voice,” his debut single, in 2000; he was 11 years old at the time, making him the youngest country artist to ever earn a Top 40 hit. Gilman’s album of the same name earned double-platinum status, but his following singles and albums did not achieve the same level of success. In November of 2014, Gilman revealed that he is gay — and called out the country music industry to support LGBTQ artists.

Gilman first landed on Team Adam during The Voice‘s blind auditions; he performed Adele‘s “When We Were Young” and got all four judges to turn their chairs for him. Fans can continue to watch Gilman’s progress when The Voice airs weekly on Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC at 8PM ET.
