If you are a country music lover in Oklahoma, you will no doubt have heard of Born & Raised, the state's largest annual country music festival in Pryor, Oklahoma. But if you have never been to Born & Raised before, you'll want to check out KLAW 101's recommendations to have the best time at the music festival.

Born & Raised will take place Sept. 13-15 this year in Pryor. Headliners include Cody Johnson, Hank Williams Jr. and Koe Wetzel, plus Dwight Yoakam, Midland, The Red Clay Strays and Shane Smith & the Saints.

KLAW 101 is longtime partner of Born & Raised, so we know a thing or two about how to have a good time at the festival! Below are our top recommendations to help first-time festival goers have a great time at Born & Raised.

What you need to know before you go to Born & Raised.

Wear comfortable shoes! Even if it’s hot, and those cute boots are calling your name, after three full days of sunshine and music, even the cutest, most comfortable boots will be a bit too much. Our recommendation would be a comfy pair of tennis shoes or sandals since you will walk from stage to stage from the opening of the gates until the last act well after dark.

Prepare yourself for sensory overload! The three stages of Born & Raised host artists of all kinds, and you’ll want to set reminders so you don’t miss your favorite acts. Once the music begins, it doesn’t stop! Some of your favorite acts may be playing on a different stage, but their performances are streamed to the video on the main stag. There will be music playing all day long.

Do your research! Before you make the trek to Pryor, take a look at the Born & Raised website and schedules for your favorite performers. Once the gates open, fans will set their chairs up front at the main stage to prepare for the bigger acts. If you know before you go which shows are your top picks, you can make sure you have up front seating. There isn’t really any bad seats as the big screens will show all of the performers.
