Brett Young Makes Late Night Debut on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ [Watch]
Brett Young's fast-rising career just gained a little more momentum. The trailblazing newcomer made his official debut on late-night TV on Tuesday (July 18) with an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Young offered strong performances of his most recent No. 1 hit, "In Case You Didn’t Know," and current single, "Like I Loved You."
The country star kicked off his two-song set with the latter song, opting for a colorful set of pink and blue colors spotlighting him as he sang his emotional new song while strumming guitar. He followed it up with an equally praise-worthy performance of "In Case You Didn't Know." Backed by a pretty backdrop of a yellow and pink sunset, Young sat perched on a stool as he delivered a lovely rendition, demonstrating his smooth voice as he crooned: "In case you didn't know / Baby I'm crazy 'bout you / And I would be lying if I said / That I could live this life without you."
The ToC RISERS act recently celebrated his second-consecutive No. 1 with "In Case You Didn't Know" (the first being the smash "Sleep Without You.") Young reveals that the hit track, co-penned by Young, Trent Tomlinson, Tyler Reeve and Kyle Schlienger, was written on the last day of an eight-day retreat in Mexico and based off of a sweet message Tomlinson's mother would say to him every day.
“Basically his mom would stop him every time he’d leave the house and say, ‘Hey Trent, in case you didn’t know, I love you,'” the singer explains. “I think once we identified that the song wasn’t about Trent’s mom and it was actually going to be a twist on how poor of a job men do at expressing their feelings."
