Cam brings her powerful song "Diane" to life in a captivating four-minute video. The single is the first off her forthcoming sophomore album due out later this year.

Cam plays the other woman who is heartbroken once she finds out her boyfriend is a married man. Rather than stay silent, she approaches his wife, Diane. In the video — directed by Daniel Carberry (Betty Who, Rise Against) — Cam acts out the moment she finds she's been cheated on and the steps she goes to to inform the man's wife.

“It’s the apology so many spouses deserve, but never get," she says. "The other woman is coming forward to break the news to the wife about an affair, respecting her enough to have that hard conversation, once she realized he was married. And in true country fashion, I’ve set the whole raw story to upbeat music, so you can dance while you process it all."

So, Who Is Diane?

The poignant clip begins with Cam at a bar as she prepares to make the difficult call to the man's wife. He's at home with his wife and young daughter when the phone rings, and we see the emotions Diane feels once she learns the truth. Cam and Diane then agree to meet face to face as Cam shares how the man broke the ice with her: by drawing a little bunny he frequently creates for his daughter on a napkin and sliding it over to her at the bar. The wife is now faced with the aftermath and the decision of what is best to do for her daughter.

Despite the heart-wrenching tale, the music to "Diane" is refreshingly upbeat and recalls the storyline of Dolly Parton’s classic “Jolene". Cam co-wrote the track with frequent collaborators Jeff Bhasker and Tyler Johnson.
