Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert + More Land Multiple 2012 CMT Music Awards Nominations
CMT unrolled the red carpet for their 2012 Music Awards nominations this morning, and it looks like Carrie Underwood is set to have quite the year, with a stunning total of five nominations. While Underwood is in the lead, tons of other country stars netted multiple nominations this year. Miranda Lambert is packing four — two for her solo work and two with first-time nominees Pistol Annies.
All of the nods were announced this morning on NBC’s ‘Today’ Show with Hoda Kotb with guest host Willie Geist and live guests Little Big Town, who are up for Performance of the Year at this year’s prestigious awards.
Others who heard their names announced in several categories include Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum, Jason Aldean, Rascal Flatts, Blake Shelton, the Civil Wars and Thompson Square, all of whom are nominated for three awards.
The 11th annual CMT Music Awards will take place in Nashville and air live Wednesday June 6 on CMT and CMT.com. Fans can cast their votes now through June 4 to help make the final call on who will walk away with these awards in the end. With the women in the lead, it will be interesting to see how it all pans out.
